Unalterable gear can’t be fixed the normal way. Take it to the Blacksmith with Repair Runes instead.
What Unalterable means
The item can’t be repaired on an anvil, combined, enchanted, renamed, grindstoned or upgraded to netherite.
How to repair
- Use
/blacksmith, or visit the Blacksmith in the house at spawn. - Shift-click your item and your runes into the menu.
